Introducing the Newport Pride LGBTQ+ Reading Circle!
Newport Pride is excited to launch a new community book club, an inclusive, group-led space where readers of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are welcome. This club is designed to bring people together through queer literature, shared conversation, and welcoming gathering spaces. Meetings will take place both at the Newport Pride Center and at affirming locations throughout the community. Our inaugural read will be A Boy’s Own Story by Edmund White, a groundbreaking queer coming-of-age novel that continues to resonate decades after its publication. As the club grows, members will collaboratively choose future books, shaping the direction and spirit of the group. Guiding our first season of gatherings will be writer and editor Michael Klein, who will serve as facilitator. We are happy to provide light refreshments for your enjoyment. We kindly ask that you do not bring any outside alcohol or substances.
